U of Washington. MBA. Choice Essay.

During my first year teaching high school in the Mississippi Delta from 2005-2006, I had a dismal relationship with Dr. G, the principal.

I lost control over one particular class, with many students challenging my authority. Unfortunately, Dr. G often rushed to blame me when problems arose. When a student who sat in the rear of the class lit a paper-filled basket on fire, causing a building evacuation, Dr. G placed the fault on me for putting paper in the back of the classroom, and refused to punish the suspected student for lack of proof. Similarly, when I caught another student copying homework, Dr. G decided my proof was not enough, and forced me to apologize to the student and his very defensive parent.
